How Much Reverb Is Too Much? The 10 to 30 Percent Rule
Aim for 10-20% wet on spoken word. Use 20-30% on sung vocals. Save 40-60% for cinematic or dramatic tracks. Go past those numbers and your audio can turn muddy fast. Too much wet mix buries your words under a wash of sound. Listeners have to work harder to understand you. Extra reverb also stretches out background noise and room hiss. That noise now has its own long tail too. Start low, then bump the amount slider only if the effect still sounds thin. Use the A/B toggle in the tool to check before you save. If dialogue gets hard to follow, pull the Reverb Amount slider down.
