What Are ID3 Tags and Why Should You Edit Them?
ID3 tags are the small pieces of text stored inside an MP3 file that tell your music player what the song is. Title, artist, album, year, genre, and album cover all live in the ID3 block at the start of the file. When a tag is wrong, your music player shows the wrong name or no cover art at all.
Pi7 reads the ID3 tags in your file, lets you edit them, and writes the new tags back into the same file. The audio itself is untouched. You get the same MP3 with clean, correct info attached.

Replace or Add Album Cover Art
Every file card shows the current cover on the left. Click it to replace with your own image. JPG and PNG both work, up to 4 MB. The image embeds directly into the MP3 as an APIC frame that every modern music player reads.
If you want the same cover on a whole album, use the Same Cover button in the batch bar. Pick the image once. Pi7 applies it to every loaded file.
What Formats Does Pi7 Accept?
You can drop MP3, M4A, and FLAC files. Pi7 reads tags from all three formats. Writing (saving edited tags) works for MP3 in v1. M4A and FLAC save support comes in a future update.
